About Sri M

My Master Said to me once...
" If you cannot cut your vegetables properly or cook your rice to perfection, how on earth are you going to seek the ultimate perfection... Begin with perfecting your daily life. That's the way to perfection"

Sri M is a remarkable human being who leads the change in the world towards peace and enlightened leadership. His transformational journey, from a young boy to a living yogi, is a fascinating story symbolized by single-minded discipline and dedication.

At the age of nine, his spiritual transformation was initiated by his future Master, Babaji (also known as Maheshwarnath Babaji), who miraculously appeared under a jackfruit tree in the compound of his house in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala (South India).

Seeking the eternal truth, at the age of 19 he left home in search of his master in the Himalayas. He met his guru Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji in the upper Himalayas where he was initiated into the Nath Tradition* and given the name Sri Madhukarnath.

He spent the next 3.5 years living in caves, wandering freely the length and breadth of the snow clad Himalayan region with his master, learning/practicing esoteric techniques of great ancient beings. He learnt from his master Kriya Yoga, Vedanta, Upanishads and all other highly esoteric wisdom teachings of the ancient yogis of India.
During this period in the Himalayas, Sri M was also graced by physically meeting his Param Guru (Supreme Master) Sri Guru Babaji, who is still gracing his presence in this planet Earth in flesh and bone since several hundreds of thousands of years.
He is also known through the Autobiography of Sri Paramahamsa Yogananda as Mahavatar Babaji, the guru of Sri Lahari Mahasaya. Sri Maheshwarnath Babaji (Sri M's guru) was a senior disciple of Sri Guru Babaji who ushered Sri Lahari Mahasaya to Sri Guru.

What Sri M learnt and practiced under the guidance of his master transformed his consciousness totally. As instructed by his master, he leads a normal married life with two children, wears no special robes and conducts himself without pomp or paraphernalia.
Sri M is a teacher conversant with the major world faiths, one who cuts across barriers of caste and creed, a social reformer, a spiritual guide and educationist.
He travels extensively all over the world to teach the wisdom of ancient beings of the universe, what he had learnt and experienced.

He is a great yogi with profound knowledge of the Upanishads and deep personal insights, born of first hand experiences with higher levels of consciousness is indeed a fascinating story.
The bonus for those interested in the secrets of yoga, meditation and vast realms of consciousness is that
Sri M is still living in our midst and easily reachable.
Through his books and talks he says
"If you find the (my) journey interesting and contributing in some way to opening up your mind to newer ways of perception or even bringing up a thought like 'yeah, perhaps there are more unknown vistas to which consciousness can expand than the so-called rational brain can think of', I have done my job."
His autobiographies, have wit and compassionate wisdom, and collocates the miraculous and the quotidian. Spirituality is not separate from worldly life, and he writes:
“The world around you is your touchstone to measure/gauge your spiritual evolution”.
Someone who met him recently said,
“I expected a flashy Godman and instead I saw a jean clad gentleman with a smile of his face, ready to discuss my problems. In five minutes flat, I said to myself, this is no ordinary man. The peace and tranquility that enters your system is tangible”
* Nath Tradition of Yogis are primarily responsible for preserving yogic teaching of ancient great beings of the world. Many main yogic literary works that are currently available to us were contributed by Nath Yogis.

Sri Guru Babaji
Great Teachers like Sri Guru & Sri Maheswarnath Babaji, influences the tide of spiritual evolution silently, behind the scenes, even though very few know of their existence.

Over the years, Sri M’s mission as a spiritual guide, social reformer and educationist has given rise to many initiatives that include:

The Satsang Foundation—established by Sri M—is a meeting point for spiritual seekers of all persuasions. The Foundation actively conceptualizes, organises and executes activities and initiatives that bring true reformation and change in human minds for a better, more inclusive and truly united world.

The key objectives and activities of the Foundation derive from the dual intents of concern for mankind and the search for truth—helping people to explore ways and means to expand their spiritual horizons and lead a multi-dimensional life. The Satsang Foundation also extends a helping hand to the less privileged in society.

In 1999, Sri M saw kids wandering in the nearby fields grazing cattle in Nakaladinne, a Lambani tribal settlement on the outskirts of Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh. Dismayed to find they weren’t enrolled in any school, he along with a friend and modest capital, started a school providing free meals for the local community children including those from low – income families. After nearly 17 years, Satsang Vidyalaya has become a model school – run with child sponsorships and donations from people all over the world.

The Peepal Grove School is a co-educational, residential and alternative school, located in Gongivari Palli village, SadumMandal, Andhra Pradesh. The school was founded by Sri M and was inaugurated by the then President of India, Dr. Abdul Kalam, in December 2006. The Peepal Grove’s vision is to provide an environment where children learn to think critically, creatively and independently to achieve academic and personal goals.

Satsang Swasthya Kendra provides preventive and curative healthcare through holistic and comprehensive treatments. Swasthya Kendra was started in 2013 and is run by Satsang Foundation in Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh. It offers treatment, medicines, and orthotics free to the community.

Manav Ekta Mission was conceptualised by Sri M to work towards the oneness of all humanity under the aegis of The Satsang Foundation. The core belief of the mission is that humanity, regardless of differences, is built on the foundation of peace, summed up in words from the Rig Veda: ‘Ekam Sat, Viprah Bahudha Vadanthi’ meaning ‘The Truth is one, the wise call it by different names’.

Sarva Dharma Kendra
Sarva Dharma Kendra was envisioned by Sri M as a spiritual retreat to facilitate dialogue between religions and serve as an experiment for mankind to realise the essential unity of all religions. The centers are planned to accommodate individual places of worship for all faiths, common meditation halls for contemplation, and encourage inter-faith dialogues.

During 2015-16 Sri M undertook the Walk of Hope, from Kanyakumari (Southernmost tip of India) to Kashmir (Northernmost tip of India) for 15 months covering the distance of 7500 KMs, spreading the message of peace and harmony. The Walk of Hope was aimed at promoting
